Bourgogne des Flandres Drune

Bourgogne des Flanders is a Flemish beer meaning “Burgundy of Flanders.” As the name suggests, this ale is wine-like and really should be consumed out of a glass in order to allow the ale to breathe. On the pour this ale is a deep reddish brown color with a beige head. The aroma is quite fruity with notes of cherry, some apple and port wine. The flavor starts out sweet and then some bitter oxidized notes take over from being aged in barrels like wine. Break out the cheese plate for this ale, the stinkier the cheese the better!
