Ubu Ale by Lake Placid Craft Brewing Company

On the pour this English-style ale is an opaque chocolate brown with a sizeable tan head. As you pour, the aroma is toasty and nutty with sweet malt overtones. The malts are definitely apparent in the taste. They are rich with a brown sugar sweetness and brown butter nuttiness. Look for notes of dried fruits such as raisins or prunes somewhere in the mid-palate. The hops are peppery and citrusy which add just the right amount of bitterness to offset the sweet characteristics of this ale. All in all a well-rounded ale for enjoying on its own or with charcoal grilled meats.
