Jamaica Red Ale by Mad River Brewing Co.

As the name implies, this ale pours a deep brownish-red color.  The head is thick and foamy and is slow to fizzle out.  At first sip it’s hard to determine which,  the hops or malts, are the stronger of two flavors.  The malts are sweet and toasty and the hops are bright and floral with hints of citrus.  The hops take the win as their taste lingers on the palate more.  This red ale is a great beer and worth a try!  With winter just around the corner it’s nice to enjoy a Jamaican style beer.
