Bischoff Black Lager by Privatbrauerei Bischoff

As the name suggests, this black lager pours a deep brewed coffee color with a beige head that quickly fizzes out.

In spite of the name and color, this lager is surprisingly light.  There are even citrus notes on the palate intermixed with a bready yeast and molasses malt taste.  On the nose there is a brightness scented with noble hops and a toasted aroma.  This black lager, despite it’s black/light inner struggle, can stand up to a number of barbecued dishes because of its drinkable nature.
